How do I make an individual appointment?
Please contact Gayle directly by phone or email to organise an appointment time. Gayle is currently accepting new clients, and 50 minute sessions are available from Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm (excluding Tuesdays). Please leave a message for Gayle to return your call should she be in session at the time of your calling.
Will I be seen in person or via telehealth?
Gayle is seeing clients in person however is able to provide a telehealth option via phone call or Zoom platform. As per Medicare guidelines, you will need to be seen in person for at least one session before being able to use the telehealth option. If you are sick, telehealth is always the preferred option.
How does the Medicare rebate work?
Medicare enables you to access individual and group psychological support on a GP Mental Health Care Plan, at a reduced out-of-pocket cost. If you would like to use this option, please book a medical appointment with your regular GP and advise that it is regarding a mental health care plan. For individual plans, please have them addressed to Gayle Moore, Amblemore Psychology, to be faxed (07 3103 4616) or emailed ([email protected]).
For individual sessions, you will need to pay the fee of $160 per session, and Gayle will process your Medicare rebate of $93.35, which means you will be out of pocket by $66.65.
How does the Medicare rebate work for the group therapy sessions?
If you are referred by your GP with a Mental Health Care Plan for group sessions (item number - 80020), you will be able to claim $31.65 back per session from Medicare. This would be a total rebate of $316.50. *
You are eligible to have 10 group sessions in addition to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. Here is the link to the Medicare site confirming this:
https://www.humanservices.gov.au/organisations/health-professionals/enablers/education-guide-better-access-mental-health-care-general-practitioners-and-allied-health#a1
When your doctor is writing the referral, please ask them to address the referral to Rachael Ambler (Provider number 2669086A) and to specify that group sessions are included in the plan. If you have a current mental health care plan that does not specify group sessions, please ask your GP for a letter that confirms that they are happy for group sessions to be included in your plan.
* At least 6 of the 10 participants need to attend a session for any participants to claim from Medicare.
* Individual invoices will be provided after each group session, and it will be the participant's responsibility to claim their rebate from Medicare.
Do you charge cancellation fees?
Cancellation fees of $40 per session are only charged if you cancel within the 24 hours before your individual appointment. Refunds are not given for the group sessions due to the small size of the group, and the group therapy sessions being treated as a treatment block.
